Technical Project Manager - NYC

New York, New York
We are looking for a highly motivated and talented Technical Project Manager to join a fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging environment.
 
The ideal candidate must demonstrate both a deep and broad conceptual understanding of application/infrastructure security and the ability to work in a global team environment. S/he should have great knowledge of project management techniques and the technologies underlying information security in the business world. This role requires a subject matter expert who can work with multiple stakeholders to thoroughly manage IT security projects
 
As the Technical Project Manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Direct the activities of the project team, while ensuring timely delivery of project milestones and reporting to senior management.
  • Actively seeks to optimize resource utilization and project billable targets
  • Produce and present documentation for executive-level managers
  • Identify and advocate for opportunities and innovations that lead to improved process, enhanced productivity, and/or increased ROI
 
This is a full-time employment opportunity in New York, NY. Salary is open based on experience and qualifications.
 
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of project management experience with at least 2 years in a technology environment
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Business Management, or a related discipline
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is a plus
 
Skills & Experiences:
You must possess strong conceptual knowledge and demonstrate in-depth understanding of the following:
  • Deep knowledge of IT security/infrastructure
  • Extensive experience in project management and modern methodologies therein, with emphasis on the financial services or IT industries
  • Established understanding of best practices for business infrastructure or software security, especially if in the financial services domain
  • Superior ability to organize and present complicated projects to a wide variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to guide the project development process from nascence to fruition
  • Aptitude with the Microsoft Office suite of programs, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Results-oriented with an absolute commitment to the highest level of quality
  • Self-driven and flexible with high motivation
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects under strict deadlines
  • Independent problem-solving and self-directing abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills like being a team player and effective collaborator with many different types of audiences
  • Ability to practice tolerance and professionalism in times of high stress
